How do I switch them on the first time?

Each light has a small plastic tab near the battery. Pull it out and the light is ready. There is no on/off switch: it turns on by itself when it gets dark.

How long do they stay lit?

Up to 8–9 hours after a full sunny day. On cloudy days they get less charge, so they run for a shorter time.

How long does charging take?

About 4–5 hours of direct sunlight. For the best start, leave them in the sun for a full day before the first night.

Can they handle rain?

Yes. They are weatherproof and made for outdoor use in rain. Avoid spots where water collects and could cover the light.

Where should I fix them?

Anywhere the top panel gets direct sunlight: stair edges, deck railings, boundary walls, fence posts. Under a roof or in full shade they will not charge well.

One light is not turning on. What should I check?

Make sure the tab is pulled out. Cover the panel with your hand: it should light up. If another light (like a street lamp) shines on the panel at night, it thinks it is still daytime, so move it a little.
